For the Aborigines, emus are the core of existence. These creatures have provided food, clothing and spiritual sustenance to the indigenous people of Australia for hundreds of years. On the Wild Rose Emu Ranch, founders Joe and Clover Quinn are equally as enchanted by these flightless birds and are proud to extend their emu products to you.

Emu farming is largely derived from its traditional use by the Australian Aborigines. 95% of the emu is usable. The emu is principally farmed to gather oil, leather and meat. Emu oil can be used externally as a moisturizer, shampoo and conditioner, body lotion, and more. Common uses for emu oil includes burns, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, acne, rhinitis, dry, irritated nasal passages, canker sores & cold sores, arthritis, rheumatism, bursitis & tendonitis, sprains, swollen tissue, scarring, keloids, hemorrhoids, and diabetic neuropathy ... to name a few. Internally, emu oil can be taken to lower your cholesterol level or improve health of the digestive track.  Equally beneficial is the 98% fat free, iron and protein rich, emu meat.  This meat is not only healthy, but surprisingly it is dark red rather than white, and can be cooked as hamburgers, steaks, fillets, jerky, sausages and more. More visually enticing are emu feathers, leathers and eggs. From fly tying or dusters to jewelry or floral arrangements, the emu feather's uses are unending. Emu leather is a fine, soft leather, which exhibits a distinctive patterned surface.
